Political commentators and analysts have long offered their evaluations of “liberalism,” and BadEagle.com has participated in this effort to identify the social phenomenon, and the mind-set at its roots. David Horowitz said nearly a decade ago that the Left (liberalism) was akin to religious faith (The Art of Political War, p.192). BadEagle.com first called it all Communism. That is to say, Marxism, Socialism, Leftism, Liberalism, and Progressivism were all the same. These labels were simply a series of disguises, each designed to make tyranny more acceptable in Western society. Today, conservative commentators like Rush Limbaugh and Ann Coulter simply call it the Democrat Party.

BadEagle.com later looked more deeply, and called it a kind of Freudian phallicism. In the American case, Communism was basically a latent male homosexual rage against the father. Communism in America is promoted by the sons of the Pilgrims, or, Ivy Leaguers, as Ann Coulter points out in Treason (2003), p.83, et passim. Therefore, the WASPS that attack their own founding fathers must have, in terms of psychohistory, a bad case of the Oedipal Complex. Only the BadEagle interpretation extracted the mother defense, and left the bare rage against the father for what it is.

At this point, however, there may be an even deeper cause behind the tyranny/feigned equality evolving in persons like Barry Soetoro, Nancy Pelosi, and Harry Reid, and the whole “Democrat” approach to government.

Consider the Psalms. Read the group in the 90’s, say, 93, 95, through 101. These picture a fabulous, Supreme King, an “über” Ruler, of all mankind, and all nature. He is of wondrous power, inspiring, and is the ultimate satisfaction of the human soul. Perhaps comprehension of this grand, noble Being is a natural capacity in the human mind and spirit. Perhaps the intuition, the instinct, of such a holy, Almighty Person is inevitable, and irrepressible. Could it not be, then, that our fumbling dictators of the world are simply acting on such an instinct? Mis-acting, we must say. They sense the position in the universe; they unconsciously feel the significance of such a being; but, in their completely godlessness, they merely usurp the concept. They themselves attempt to play the role they instinctively sense. They want to be God.

This is tragic. This is no triumph. This is an unholy ambition, a most mistaken venture. This creates hell for everyone, finally. (Even not so ‘finally,’ but, even now, in our face.)

We present this demagogue (Democrata-god) theory now as possibly the final evaluation of the otherwise unaccountable mindless transgression of leaders like Barry, Harry, and Nancy. They are in fact not leaders at all. They are self-indulgents. They indulge their fantasy of being God, or gods. They see themselves above the people, as knowing what’s best for all. They assert themselves over and above the people. In this, they transgress, profoundly.

It is perhaps not all that surprising that such good-deed doers should evolve in American politics. After all, America is all about good-deed doing. At least, that’s the “liberal” interpretation of the Puritan, Judeo-Christian social roots of American society. But, of course, this is a deception. American “government” was all about freeing the individual, not herding the community. Each individual person is supposed to be Christian, but, the government is simply to protect the freedom of that individual.

Liberal ‘gods’ think that means everyone has a right to the best education, the best car, the best house, and the best healthcare than everyone else’s money can buy. Redistributors, these gods. Robbers, these Democrat deities. Nothing more. It’s all a façade. It is not about the people, or what the people want. It is about demigoguery, and divine role-playing. It ends, of course, in tragedy. As every attempt to be more than human ends. William Muehl, my professor at Yale Divinity years ago, said (of Adolf Hitler), those who suppose themselves transcendent of human nature fall far below it.

(He also said that, at least of theologians, leaders don’t really lead, but they follow the people’s needs. Let’s pray this is not ultimately true in America, considering our current and pitiful “pop” society.)
