Barry’s World: Dark Globalism

by David Yeagley · March 30, 2009 · 3 Comments ·

“Obama” Barry is certainly involved in a relentless effort to create a one world government, as were his predecessors. The New World Order, with all its different names, all its different aspects, is the dominant direction of word governments, and has been for decades now. The world tends to coagulate, as it were, naturally. Babylon, Persia, Greece, Rome, etc., represent an inevitable trend in human society.

Anciently, the God of nations, that is, the God of Israel–who alone claims to govern all the nations, having also created them, was in fact the creator of these world empires. Agonizing as that thought may seem, and as it seemed to the Jews to whom the view was pronounced in 609 BCE, the Bible does present precisely that view. In the book of Daniel, we find the great descriptions of the empires, yet without causality. But in the writings of other prophets, like Jeremiah, for instance, we find direct statements about the hand of God in the creation this world systems. In Jeremiah 27 we find terrifying specificity.

5 I have made the earth, the man and the beast that are upon the ground, by my great power and by my outstretched arm, and have given it unto whom it seemed meet unto me.
6 And now have I given all these lands into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, my servant; and the beasts of the field have I given him also to serve him.
7 And all nations shall serve him, and his son, and his son’s son, until the very time of his land come: and then many nations and great kings shall serve themselves of him.

However, concerning the final global conditions, the Bible has quite a different description of causality. It is not of God, but of Satan. The final “empire” is evil, and precedes the catastrophic overthrow of the planet, or, the end of the world–of which end God is definitely the cause.

After Rome, however, there was never to be another God-ordained world empire. Of course, people are free to interpret things in various ways. Some read a world empire force behind England, behind the Jewish Bankers, behind the Christian church, etc. The point is, the final attempts at uniting the world in one government, by coercion, through socio-economic and religious authority, are not of God, but of the Dragon, according to Revelation 12, 13, and 14.

This is of course critical to our understanding of the place of America, of Europe, and of all nations, in the final scheme of things. If we are believers, we strive to maintain the honor and dignity of nationhood, and the validity of the races and cultures. We are against dark globalism. It seems an impossible challange to keep our leaders on track, since they are inevitably drawn into the globalism power schemes of our age. But, we can have confidence that the scheme will not succeed. It will be ended at the moment of its apparent triumph.

We can in fact have full confidence on the sovereignty of the Creator of all nations. In the words of a 19th century author:

In the annals of human history the growth of nations, the rise and fall of empires, appear as dependent on the will and prowess of man. The shaping of events seems to a great degree, to be determined by his power, ambition, or caprice. But in the word of God the curtain is drawn aside, and we behold, behind, above, and trhough all the play and counterplay of human interests and power and passions, the agencies of the all merciful One, silently, patiently working out the counsels of His own will.

Ellen G. White, Education (1903, rpt. Mountain View, CA: Pacific Press Publishing, 1952), 173.

Whatever sort of hell we have been through here in this world, there is value here. There are things precious, preserved even into the New Earth. When the fires have consumed the present world, and the earth and heaven have been created anew, for eternity, therein will walk “the nations,” who shall all come to worship before their Creator. Revelation 21:

And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.
24 And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it.
25 And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there.
26 And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it.
