Amazingly the Soviets provoked the Six Day War and promised amphibious landings, naval support and some air cover that never materialized and avoided any blame for their duplicity. The Arab Israeli conflict could end tomorrow if Egypt took back Gaza and Jordan and Israel made a peace treaty on the West bank. Of course such a deal would discredit Communist malfeasance and would be a hard sell in the Antisemitic Bolshevik salons of higher ed in Europe.
